Public Library Data
The Division of Library Development provides easy online access to public library statistics through Bibliostat Connect. Bibliostat Connect is a powerful browser-based application with built-in tutorials and help resources. Public library staff and trustees can use this important data to benchmark the local library’s progress in keeping up with trends and clearly show how the library compares with other libraries of similar size and demographic characteristics.

- Easy access and manipulation of over 30 years of New York’s public library data
- Quick creation of rank order tables and colorful graphs
- Free access to the latest national data from multiple sources
- Free access to comparative statistics about libraries across the country through a module that utilizes U.S. Census Bureau data
Bibliostat Connect allows libraries to identify peer libraries and compare public libraries within New York and across the country on hundreds of different measures, including:
- Circulation, attendance and registered borrowers
- Library collections and services
- Income, expenditures, staffing, salaries and benefits
