The system and county maps show chartered service areas of New York State libraries and locations of libraries. The Senate, Assembly and Congressional District maps show chartered service areas and locations of library buildings, including branches, in each district. All maps are provided in PDF format.
The PDF file for each public library system contains a map for the entire system followed by maps for the individual counties in the system. Each PDF contains all of the maps for the corresponding system, beginning with a system map, followed by county maps in alphabetical order. Map date: 5/30/2021
Note: There are no service area maps for Brooklyn, Queens or NYPL.
Note: Unserved is defined in §90.3 [Approval of public library systems] (10) of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education as those individuals residing in geographic areas that are within the boundaries of a public library system but outside the boundaries of a chartered service area of a library which is a member of that system.
Each legislative district PDF below contains all maps for that type of district. The maps contained in each document are in numerical order by district number, and the district numbers match the page numbers.
Note: The Senate, Assembly and Congressional District maps only show the locations of libraries that are physically located in that particular district. Note that their service areas may extend beyond that district into neighboring district(s). For a clearer picture of a library’s service area please see the county maps above.
Customized GIS maps are funded through the Federal Library Services and Technology Act, with funds awarded by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
