Perry Rediker Kimball was born April 26, 1890, in Ellenburg, New York, to Charles E. Kimball and Mertie Rediker. He married Flora Winters circa 1915 and the couple had four children. Joyce was born in 1916; Helen and Perry W. were born 1917 but Perry died in 1918; and Rollin was born in 1921. The family lived in Utica, New York.
Kimball became an electrician and in July 1919 was initiated into the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 181. He went to work for Langdon and Hughes Electrical Contractors, Inc., eventually becoming a superintendent and vice president. According to the announcement of his death, Kimball, who retired in 1966, was highly regarded in his profession. Perry R. Kimball passed away on September 9, 1970, at the age of 80. He is buried in Sunnyside Cemetery, Brushton, New York.
This small collection consists chiefly of documents related to Perry R. Kimball's membership in the IBEW Local 181, from his initiation in 1919 to his retirement in 1966. Monthly dues receipts comprise the majority of items, along with membership cards and the newsletter announcing his death in 1970. Two wiring diagrams are included, although it is unclear how they relate to Perry Kimball.
