Scope and Content Note:
The Mohawk Valley Broom Company was located in Fonda, New York, and, according to an invoice letterhead, was a "manufacturer of high grade brooms and whisks." Manufacturing of brooms and brushes was at one time a significant industry in Fonda and the surrounding communities. This small series of account books and ancillary papers provides a record of the cost of labor, production, and distribution as well as cash receipts from the sale of its products.
