Biographical Note:

Sandra Kay (Payne) Guenette (1945- ) of Saugerties, Ulster County, New York, is the granddaughter of the late Fred R. Dunham (1890-1957) and Edith Robinson (1893-1982). They were married in 1913, and lived in Lexington, Greene County, New York and later West Kill, Greene County, New York. The couple had nine children: Ethel Anna Dunham Payne (1914-1987), Helen Cornelius Dunham Deming (1916-1960), Richard Frederick Dunham (1917-1989), Theda Adalaid Dunham Davis (1919-2012), Viva Ellen Dunham Becker (1924-1995), Hilda Abby Dunham Ballard (1926- ), Daniel Curtis Dunham (1928-1994), Russell Ellroy Dunham (1933-1991), and one stillborn boy (1921).

Fred Dunham's ancestors include the Ford family (the pre-1604 spelling is "Foord," which has been retained in some cases), while Edith's ancestors include the Van Valkenburg and Robinson families. Fred and Edith's descendents include members of the Payne, Dzilvelis, and Guenette families. Research pertaining to these branches of the Dunham family can also be found in these papers.

In addition to her own research, Guenette draws on information collected by Edith Dunham and earlier work by Hannibal C. Ford. Copies of portions of Ford's research on the Ford family genealogy are included. The materials in the collection date from approximately 1994 to 2013.
