Thomas Costello was prominent in government and Republican Party politics of Oswego County, New York. He served in the New York State Assembly from 1896 to 1903. His home was in the village of Altmar, which was originally called Sand Bank.
A collection of personal letters addressed to Carrie Blakeman, who became his wife on March 30, 1892. The letters concern mostly personal and family matters. Several were written on New York State Assembly stationery.
