Correspondence
The majority of the letters were addressed to William W. and Catherine Van Schaick Baldwin, 1830-1895. Letters written before 1830 were mostly to Henry Van Schaick and Walter Baldwin. Also included in the collection are letters to Augustus Walter, 1805-1868.
Business Papers
Business records for the maintenance and production of family land on Van Schaick Island (Cohoes) 1830-1871. This includes account ledgers, day books, sales books, bills and receipts. Also included are records and policies of the Albany Insurance Company, 1848-1870.
Estate Papers and Land Records
Legal documents and estate inventories of Gerard Van Schaick, Henry Van Schaick and Catherine Van Schaick Baldwin and William W. Baldwin. Land records of Van Schaick family property in Albany, Cohoes, Lansingburg (Troy), Waterford and Watervliet, New York.
Personal Papers, ca. 1850-1890
Material that belonged to Catherine V.S. Baldwin, such as genealogical notes, invitations, photographs, poetry, and prose.
