IRS provides assistance for people with disabilities

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) provides online tax products and services for taxpayers with disabilities. Individuals may visit the IRS Accessibilityexternal link page to download hundreds of forms and publications. You can choose from large-print, text, accessible PDFs, e-braille, or HTML formats that are compatible with screen readers and refreshable braille displays. There are also tax-related videosexternal link in English and American Sign Language.

The IRS recommends checking the website often as it is continuously adding more products to assist persons with disabilities.

Tax return preparation help is also available  

  • People who are unable to complete their tax return because of a physical disability, or are age sixty or older, may get assistance from a local IRS Tax Assistance Center or through a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) or Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) site. The IRS sponsors VITA and TCE.
