Some NYS Library Materials Temporarily Unavailable

We're improving our efficiency!

During the next few months, ceiling lighting throughout the New York State Library will be removed and replaced by new, energy-efficient fixtures. The Library will remain open during this process, but portions of the Library collections or public service areas will be temporarily closed and unavailable while work is being done in those areas.

Monday, November 6th :

The following areas/public space of the 7th floor will be closed for use on Monday, November 6th:

  • Microfilm and microfiche in MA

  • Microfilm and microfiche readers, reader/printers and scanners

  • Copiers and book scanners

Tuesday, November 7th :

The following book stack areas/public space will be closed for use on Tuesday, November 7th:

Circulation Desk hold shelves and main lobby.  Customers will be able to exit the elevator lobby to get to other parts of the floor.

Wednesday, November 8th and Thursday, November 9th:

  • Public Computers  and researcher tables at north end of floor

  • RR, RL , RT index tables and New York State Law
